Field Events
Throwers –Our throwers do not return a lot of varsity experience, but we are working hard and excited about watching them improve as the season progresses. Returning throwers include juniors Jacob Belmaggio and Will Hand, Sophomores Aiden Curtis and Jackson Hollis. New to our team and looking to make an impact are freshmen Matt Brown, Kody Rohr and sophomore Eli Brooks.
Jumps – We will be led in high jump by senior Preston King and sophomore Filip McMaken, Preston is the current school record holder in this event and was a state placer this winter at indoor state and a state qualifier last year in outdoor. Our long jumpers will be led by indoor state placer Day’Lynn Garrett. Day’Lynn will be joined by sophomores Landin Cassel, Trent Reynolds, and freshmen Isaiah Mumford.
Pole Vault – We have several athletes looking to try to pole vault this year. Our pole vaulters include senior Chris Deaton, juniors Christian Clark, Day’Lynn Garrett, and freshmen Sam Godin, Isaiah Mumford, and Caiden Walters.
Distance/Mid-Distance
Our distance/mid distance crew will be led by senior Beck Wilson. Beck will look to lead us in events ranging from the 400 to the 3200. Beck will be joined by fellow seniors Matt Dieperink and Calub Hembree, junior Zaq Steele, sophomores Landon Beeman, Henry Cantrell, Eddison Deaton, Sam Helman, Evan Moore, Landon Reynolds, and freshmen Drake Angle, Zaiden Maroney, and Jackson White.
Sprinters
Our sprinters will be led by junior state placer Day’Lynn Garrett. Day’Lynn placed in the hurdles at state last spring and indoors this year. Day’Lynn will be joined by fellow seniors Jack Blumenstock, Rowan Isaacs, Preston King, Chris Deaton, juniors Will Hand, Christian Clark, sophomores Landin Cassel, Filip McMaken, Trent Reynolds, Wyatt Schaefer, Nick Zuhl, freshmen Devinn Bennett, Caylor Eastman, and Sam Godin.
We are looking forward to having fun competing and getting better each week. The league will be really competitive and we hope to be competing to the best of our abilities when that time of the season comes.
