EMMA HAVENAR ADVANCES TO REGIONAL

PIQUA – The Covington Lady Buccs had one athlete advance to the regional tournament as freshman Emma Havenar finishing fourth place in the 300 meter hurdles.

Havenar advanced to the finals by finishing sixth place in the prelims with the time of 52.79. She then passed up two more runners in the district finals by finishing fourth place in the time of 50.77.

Five other events were placed in the top eight as Maura DuBois finished sixth in the 110 hurdles (17.98) and the group of Maura DuBois, Nadia Ramirez, Caylee Swiger and Madelyn Batdorf finished sixth in the 4×200 meter relay (1:56.59. Two girls finished in seventh place – Alice Larson in the 3200 meter run (13:15.04) and Emma Havenar in the 100 meter hurdles (18.09). The 4×100 meter relay team of Emma Havenar, Nadia Ramirez, Caylee Swiger and Madelyn Batdorf finished in eighth place (55.51).

The Lady Buccs finished with 16 team points, which is 13th out of 22 teams.
