THE BUCCS HAD AN UP AND DOWN PERFORMANCE AT TRI-VILLAGE

Covington traveled to Tri-Village on Thursday morning for 7-on-7 scrimmages against Richmond and the host Patriots with the Buccaneers’ performance having outstanding execution on half of the plays and mistakes on as many plays.

The Village of Covington received a great application for a Police Chief from David Friend, a legendary individual who has had a huge impact in several communities throughout his contributions in Police Departments. Fortunately, Covington hired Friend in the position as the Police Chief, which puts the Village of Covington into ideal situations for security.

A community member of Covington put together so much time and spent a lot of money to organize a fireworks presentation to benefit local residents in the night of the 4th of July.

The Board of Education announced the hiring of a new Superintendent for Covington Exempted Village Schools, Dr. Katina Childers.

The annual event honoring graduates from Covington High School was held on Saturday Night on June 6th at the Covington Exempted Village Schools.
3on3 BASKETBALL WAS OUTSTANDING

A 3on3 basketball tournament that generated intention and beneficial money for the Buccaneer basketball program was so fun to watch due to so many athletic players throughout the entire day on Saturday.

JORDAN SHAFER SPEAKS TO THE BUCCS

Jordan Shafer, a Covington Graduate in 2003 who was a standout football player for the Buccaneers and in college at Morehead State, explained to the current Covington football team the important work ethic and focus that leads to success in the sport.

Covington’s standout senior Day’Lynn Garrett placed fifth at state in the 300 meter hurdles and all five Buccaneer athletes had a great experience at the state meet.
