Being inducted into the Covington Athletic Hall of Fame is a prestigious honor and three individuals, plus the 2002 softball team were blessed to experience that honor during the 41st annual induction ceremony on Saturday, January 13, 2023 at Covington High School. The two individual former athletes who were inducted were 1986 graduate Ralph “Butch” Boehringer and 2013 graduate Troy Cron and another individual, 1981 graduate Dan Cain, was inducted as an honorary member. Butch Boehringer and Troy Cron compiled amazing athletic careers at Covington and left legacies of greatness for future generations to follow, while Dan Cain established himself as one of the premier coaches in Covington history. The 2002 softball team consisted of some of the best players in the history of the program and became the first softball team in Covington to reach the state final four.
LADY BUCCS SUFFER THE ONLY LOSS IN THE TRC TO MIAMI EAST
OCTOBER 10, 2024 – CASSTOWN The Covington Lady Buccs closed out the regular season with a 17-5 overall record and 13-1 in the TRC after losing to Miami East in the regular season finale.
OCTOBER 8, 2024 – COVINGTON For the first time in 16 years the Covington Lady Buccs won a league championship, which was locked up on Tuesday in a three-set victory over Riverside.
OCTOBER 7, 2024 – COVINGTON The Covington Lady Buccs took care of business by dominating neighboring rival Bradford in a three-set victory by the scores of 25-11, 25-13 and 25-8.
OCTOBER 4, 2024 – COVINGTON Covington dropped their third straight defeat as Milton-Union put a damper on the Buccs’ homecoming festivities by handing the Buccs a 29-7 loss.
LADY BUCCS SECURE AT LEAST A SHARE OF THE LEAGUE TITLE
OCTOBER 3, 2024 – COVINGTON The Covington Lady Buccs defeated Lehman Catholic in three sets to improve their record in the TRC at 12-0, which locks up at least a share of the league title with two league games left.
