The Covington Lady Buccs enter the 2024-25 season with ten players on the roster, but eight of them are returning lettermen from a year ago; seniors Gabrielle Hartwig and Maggie Anderson, juniors Delaney Murphy and Avery Koffer, and sophomores. Steve Newhouse, Emalyn Johnson, Kylie Palsgrove and Bella Batdorf.
The Lady Buccs are coming off of a 19-6 season a year ago where they finished second in the TRC with a 12-2 league record. Two key players graduated – Gracie Anderson and Carlie Besecker.
Still, the Lady Buccs have the talent in place to challenge for league title and a successful tournament run as seniors Gabrielle Hartwig and Maggie Anderson are the key leaders on the team.
SEASON RECAP: The Lady Buccs finished their season with a 21-3 record and won the league championship in the Three Rivers Conference with a 14-0 record. Maggie Anderson was chosen as the Athlete of the Year in the TRC and coach Shawn Naff was chosen as the Coach of the Year.
The Lady Buccs set a school record with 17 consecutive wins and allowing the least amount of points in a game – 3 points in a 55-3 victory over Calvary Christian in the opening round of the state tournament. Additionally, Maggie Anderson closed out her amazing high school career with 1330 career points, which was sixth in the history of the program. She also tallied 596 career rebounds, which ranked ninth in the history of the program.

Covington senior Maggie Anderson, the daughter of Danny and Brandy Anderson, committed to Indiana University East to extend her educational opportunities and advance her basketball skills to the collegiate level.
