BUCCS ADVANCE TO REGIONAL IN SIX EVENTS

TROY – The Covington Buccaneers had an outstanding performance in the district meet at Troy as the athletes advanced to the regional tournament in six events.

Day’Lynn Garrett and Filip McMaken accomplished all four events, while Caylor Eastman advanced in three and both Jordan Miller and Trent Reynolds moved on in two events.

Garrett won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 40.82 and finished second in the 110 meter hurdles in at the time of 15.17. Filip McMaken won the high jump with the height of 5-10.00.

The Buccaneers finished in the top four in three relays. Caylor Eastman, Day’Lynn Garrett, Filip McMaken and Jordan Miller finished third in the 4×400 meter relay in the time of 3:33.75 and another third place finish was by Caylor Eastman, Day’Lynn Garrett, Trent Reynolds and Filip McMaken in the 4×200 meter relay with the time of 1:34.43.

Covington finished fourth in the 4×100 meter relay in the time of 45.63 by Filip McMaken, Jordan Miller, Caylor Eastman and Trent Reynolds.

The Buccaneers finished fifth out of 13 teams by accumulating 49 total points.
