PIQUA – The Covington Buccaneers had a great day in the annual Dan Kendig Memorial by finishing second out of 15 teams with junior Matt Dieperink breaking the 9-hole school record with 30 strokes on the front nine. Dieperink recorded 41 strokes on the back nine to finish with 71 strokes to become the tournament medalist.
Dieperink, who has put in a significant amount of time on the golf course in the offseason, has led Covington in each outing so far this season.
The Buccs were without senior Sam Grabeman, but Bryson Hite and Brodie Manson both finished in 83 strokes, while Cameron Haines scored an 86 and Connor Humphrey finished with 95 strokes. Levi Weldy finished with a score of 109.
