PIQUA – The Covington cross country teams competed in the Piqua Invite Under The Lights on Saturday and the boys finished 11th out of 28 teams, while the girls finished 16th out of 30 team.

Eliza Long won the race consisting of 275 runners, Her time of 18:22.7 broke the school record and was nearly forty seconds faster than the next runner to cross the finish line. Lucy Welborn finished 9th (22:34.3), Bella Welch 123rd (23:22.7), Willow Pullman 170th (25:11.1) and Serenity Weaver 180th (25:28.0).

Beck Wilson was the highest placer for the boys as he finished 17th with a time of 16:23.5. Chris Keaton finished 45th (17:14.6), Preston King 77th (17:56.7), Calub Hembree 87th (18:04.0) and Kent Welborn 107th (18:47.2).

Covington will compete again under the lights next week in Troy.
