TROY – The boys and girls track and field teams opened up their seasons at the Troy Up and Running Invitational. The girls finished in 6th place and the boys finished tied for 7th. Placers for the boys were Day’Lynn Garrett first place in the Long Jump, 2nd place in the 110 hurdles, Preston King 2nd place in High Jump, and Beck Wilson 5th place in the 3200 meter run.
The girls were led by Elyza Long’s two first place finishes in the 3200 and the 800 meter run. Her 3200 meter run set a new meet record by over 20 seconds. Makayla Vanderhorst tied for 6th place in the pole vault. Hannah Alexander placed 5th in the shot put and 4th in the discus.
