COVINGTON – The Covington cross country program hosted the annual Buccaneer Invitational at the Covington Fraternal Order of Eagles Picnic Grounds on Saturday.

The girls finished third as a team with 110 points as senior Eliza Long won the race with a time of 19:29.4. Kassidy Turner finished 15th (23:13.9), Lucy Welborn finished 17th (23:23.9), Bella Welch finished 39th (25:43.0) and Willow Pullman finished 47th (26:32.1.

The boys finished fourth with 111 points. Beck Wilson led the Buccs by finishing 6th with a time of 17:36.8, while Chris Deaton finished 10th (18:06.1), Calub Hembree finished 31st (19:28.3), Preston King finished 35th (19:37.6) and Henry Skaggs finished 37th (19:51.8).
