COVINGTON – A Memorial Day Parade was held in Covington on Monday, May 26th, which was greatly organized by the Covington Newberry Historical Society.
There were several community members involved in the process that deserve credit for their contribution, but a huge amount of credit goes to life-long community member, Kay McKinney. She has had a huge impact on the community through the work she put in through the Covington Exempted Village Schools and as a member of the Village Council from 1986 to 2008.
Also, what made the Memorial Day Parade so special was the way Military Veterans and First Responders (Police, Firefighters and Paramedics) were honored.
