BOIL ADVISORY IN COVINGTON

Due to weather conditions there has been a water main break in the intersection of Main Street and Wright Street that has forced a Boil Advisory throughout the entire Village of Covington. There are crews working on repairing the water main break as quickly and safely as possible.

BOIL ADVISORY IS LIFTED.

The Village of Covington Water Distribution System is no longer under a Boil Advisory. All samples were returned with negative results.

Again, thank you to all those involved with the water main break repairs and thank you for your continued patience.

The Village of Covington remains under a Boil Advisory.

Crews have successfully repaired the water main break issue near Wright and Main Street.

Our Water Department staff have collected water samples and will be providing those samples to the City of Troy to be tested.

Testing could take up to 24 hours roughly from start of testing.

We will notify you all when the Boil Advisory is lifted and of the status.

The Village of Covington wants to thank all Village Staff (Covington Police Department Utility Crews, Street Crews), Covington Fire & Rescue Inc. Finfrock Construction, Covington Exempted Village Schools for allowing us to use their one call now system, Board of Miami County Commissioners – OHIO for allowing us to use CodeRed notification system, and anyone else who may have helped or provided aid during this time.

The Village of Covington remains under a Boil Advisory.

Crews are currently working on repairing the water main near the intersection of Wright St. and Main St.

Once, repairs are completed. Our Water Department staff will collect water samples and take those samples to the City of Troy where they have a certified EPA lab to be tested.

At this time, we do not have a timeline for when the Boil Advisory will be lifted due to the unknowns for the water main break. When we know more we will be sure to notify you.

The entire Village of Covington Water Distribution System continues to be on a Boil Advisory.

A water main break has been identified near the intersection of Main and Wright Street. Utility crews are investigating the issue and coming up with solutions for the repairs.

West Wright Street (west of Main St.) is closed.

We will update with more information as soon as possible.

During the boil advisory, use either commercially bottled water or boil your tap water.

Bring water to a full rolling boil for one minute. To avoid burns, allow boiled water to cool before using. Please boil your water even if you filter it in your home.
