BENEFITTING WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA DISASTER RELIEF

  • Post category:NEWS

COVINGTON – There is a very important and emotional fundraising event scheduled for Saturday, April 12th at 1:00pm at the Covington Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

The fundraiser is to benefit areas in Western North Carolina that suffered serious damage from Hurricane Helene in September of 2024. When the hurricane came through, 25 counties were affected dramatically in North Carolina.

The proceeds generated from this fundraiser will be provided to Spokes of Hope, a christian organization that is helping rebuild destroyed properties. Plus, several members from Covington and surrounding communities will head down to the area in March to help Spokes of Hope rebuild properties.

The mission of this fundraiser is to help the people in need in Western North Carolina. Those who are conducting the fundraiser in Covington are also hoping to get more volunteers who would like to help with the event. They are also looking for donations at the Live & Silent Auctions, plus items for the Bake Sale. Anyone who would like to volunteer their help at the event may call Glen Hollopeter at 937-216-2255.

“God commands us to help our fellow man in need.”

The event will also have three food trucks who will be providing a portion of their proceeds – Bee’s Boba, Timeless Tacos and Potato Tornado.

Hopefully there will be a large amount of community members who attend this event. There is no entry admission charges required for attendees.
