COVINGTON – The Covington Lady Buccs dropped their second consecutive game in a 46-37 loss to Anna on Tuesday that drops their record to 12-4 on the season.
The tone was set early in the game as Anna’s defense gave the Lady Buccs fits. This led to a 17-10 lead for the Rockets, but fortunately Covington was able to outscore Anna 9-2 in the second period to tie the score at 19-19 at the break.
The score remained tied at 28-28 after three, but Covington suffered a huge blow as Gracie Anderson picked up her fourth foul in the period.
Things went downhill for Covington in the fourth as Anna implemented full court pressure on the Lady Buccs. This led to several turnovers and easy buckets for Anna that led to an 18-9 scoring advantage for the Rockets.
Maggie Anderson led Covington with a game-high 15 points despite the overall offensive struggles.
