CASSTOWN – Covington had a quality performance in a very competitive track meet at the Miami East Invitational on Saturday.

The boys finished 5th in the team scores with 74.5 points, while the girls finished 8th with 32.5 points.

Senior standout Day’Lynn Garrett won three events in the 110 meter hurdles (15.49), the 300 meter hurdles (39.47) and the long jump (21’2.5″).

The Buccaneers also finished second in the 4×100 relay (45.95) and third in two events, the 100 meter dash by Filip McMaken (11.75) and the 4×1200 relay (1:35.55).

Freshman Alice Larson captured the highest result for the girls as she finished second in the 1660 meter run in the time of 5:50.52. The Lady Buccs also finished fourth twice – once in the 4×800 meter relay (12:05.27) and in the pole vault by Chloe Aselage (6’0″).

Chloe Aselage also took the best pictures of the day.
