ASHER LONG TAKES THIRD AT STATE

OBETZ, OH – Covington senior Asher Long capped a great career by finishing third place at the state cross country meet with a time of 15:40.95 in Obetz, Ohio on Saturday.

Long is the second highest state placer in the history of the program, behind 1970 state champion Ron Leach.

This was Long’s third straight trip to the state meet as he finished 18th last year as a junior and 25th in 2021 as a sophomore.

Asher also set the school record for Covington with a time of 15:26.65 on September 16, 2023 at the Troy Twilight Invitational.
