COVINGTON – Brian Swinehart opened up a comedy show last night at the Covington Fraternal Order of Eagles, which set the tone for a great evening with additional comedians Sean Shank. Kevin Downey Jr., Terry McNeely and Mike Merk.
This event was a part of a traveling comedy show the five comedians are performing throughout Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. On Saturday, all five comedians were funny, but Swinehart was the highlight of the evening due to the bond between him and the Covington community.
Swinehart, who grew up in Covington and graduated in 1998 at Covington High School, used many of his memories from his high school days as a part of his comedy act. This made it very entertaining because many of those in the crowd had the same type of memories from their own times growing in Covington.
Overall, it was a very special night and appreciated by a large crowd who filled up the hall at the Covington Fraternal Order of Eagles.

BRIAN SWINEHART BIO
Brian Swinehart grew up in the charming town of Covington Ohio. His father Howard and mother Susan were both attorneys and were very involved in his life. Brian had a younger sister Kristen and two half sisters Ruth and Ellen and a half brother Dale.
As a child Brian enjoyed the outdoors and playing sports. At age 10 he got his first job as a paperboy. He enjoyed riding his bike through Covington as he delivered newspapers.
Growing up in a small town has a lot of advantages, one of which is building strong bonds with your classmates. When you live in a small town you know everyone well because there aren’t many of you.
In high school, Brian joined the wrestling team. Brian’s senior year of high school he achieved his goal of becoming a State Qualifier in wrestling, which was a huge accomplishment.
After graduating from Covington High School in 1998, Brian went to Edison Community College for a semester where he took several classes including an acting class. The Acting Class was his favorite and teacher Patricia Spielman was a very positive influence on him. She told him he had an innate acting talent. In 1999 Brian’s dad Howard died, which was very difficult on Brian and changed his life path.
Brian went on to compete in the World Championships Of Performing Arts in Los Angeles where he won the boys division in acting. This motivated him to move to California and throw his hat in the ring to be a Hollywood actor. His teacher, Patricia, put him in touch with legendary wardrobe stylist Bernadette O’Brien, who worked on movies and TV shows such as Murder She Wrote. Brian ended up moving into Bernadette’s house living in her attic for $300 a month and in August for free because it got so hot.
Bernadette brought Brian on to the lot of Paramount Pictures where he met some extras who were working on the show Roswell. Brian asked them how they got their job and they told him to go to Central Casting. The next day Swinehart signed up at Central Casting and got an extra job on the show Freaks And Geeks. Through this job he became eligible for the Screen Actors Guild.
Brian started paying his $300 a month rent through being an extra on TV Shows and Movies. Then in 2002, Swinehart went to an open mic and tried standup comedy. At first he would do one show a month. However three years later Brian was performing every week and has since performed at major venues all over America.
Swinehart’s comedy and acting career were both filled with a lot of success including three Super Bowl commercial appearances, working on the movie Fast & Furious 7, being a Standin for Matthew McConaghey, and producing a feature film movie and numerous award winning short films, including several short films about his friend from Covington, Dennis “Scooby” Wiloughby.
In 2020 Brian left California because of the corruption coming from the Governor of California Gavin Newsom. Under the authoritarian rule of Gavin Newsom, California had become a living Hell. A dangerous place to live with crime on every street corner and rules and regulations coming from Gavin Newsom that were designed to destroy working class Americans.
With the freedom and safety abolished in California, Brian decided to move back home to the beautiful town of Covington Ohio. Swinehart fell back in love with that amazing little town. Although it may seem as if Brian would have to give up his dreams in the entertainment industry when leaving Hollywood, it did not play out that way. Brian began getting a lot of acting work from his Cincinnati agent PCG talent.
Brian also went back to Edison Community College and received his Associates degree. Brian made numerous short films in Covington and is currently in pre-production for a feature film called Trials Of Life, which is a true story of a murder trial that his father was a lawyer on.
This school year Brian will also be accomplishing another major life goal. Brian will be going to Defiance College and wrestling on the team as he goes for his Bachelors Degree. At the age 45, this will make him one of the oldest college wrestlers in history.
