COVINGTON – Ramsé Vanderhorst, a great volleyball player throughout her high school career, had a huge impact in the program due to her leadership and accomplishments.

Ramsé, Covington’s senior standout, established herself as one of the most accomplished defensive players in Lady Buccs volleyball history by setting three impressive program records. She recorded 38 digs in a single game in 2024, set a single-season record with 516 digs in 2026, and finished her outstanding four-year career (2023–2026) with a school-record 1,569 digs.

Vanderhorst was a starter on the Lady Buccs varsity team throughout all four seasons and consistently earned recognition for her exceptional performance in the Three Rivers Conference. She received First Team All-Conference honors in 2026, Second Team honors in both 2024 and 2025, and Honorable Mention recognition as a freshman in 2023.

Covington’s coach Sloane Green praised Ramsé Vanderhorst due to her outstanding leadership throughout the season.

“We stayed competitive this season, in large part, because Ramsé steadied our passing and defense, giving us a greater chance to stay in long rallies and convert her first contact into points,” she mentioned. “Ramsé has been the best libero that has stepped on every court she’s played on this season. I’ve been so impressed with her volleyball abilities, as she plays with such high intelligence and skill. But more than Ramsé’s skills, her teammates looked to her in times of stress to provide encouragement and a path forward. She is a fantastic leader on and off the court, and we are so grateful for her dedication to and passion for the Covington volleyball program.”

Her remarkable consistency, dedication, and defensive abilities left a lasting impact on the Lady Buccs volleyball program.
