COVINGTON – Tim Cline, who is currently the Covington Police Chief, resigned on Monday as he will be joining a larger community in the Vandalia Police Department after his position in Covington is finalized.
Officer Cline moved to Covington in 2015 and had a huge impact in the community as a Police Officer. One of the most impactful portion of his positive affect within the community was how he generated great relationships with kids inside the Covington School as the School Resource Officer.
Once Lee Harmon retired in 2025, Cline advanced to the position as the Covington Police Chief and also helped the Village of Covington as a temporary Village Administrator until Jordan Hodges was put into that position.
Since 1901 Covington has been very fortunate having police departments that help keep the community safe. Tim Cline was the 12th Police Chief in the history of the community and now Covington is searching for another perfect individual to carry on the implications Tim Cline executed throughout this time within the community.
Thank you Time Cline and hopefully future success extends for you in Vandalia.
