SUGAR ISLE – Covington’s boys golf team improved their record to 4-3 overall and 3-3 in the TRC with a critical victory over Bethel on Monday at Sugar Isle Golf Course.

The Buccaneers won by eight strokes, 175 to 183.

Senior Jayden Wackler continues performing an outstanding season by earning the medalist with 43 strokes on a 36-par course. Wackler led Covington with 12 team points.

Brodie Manson, Brairen Denson and Finn Rogers all finished with 44 strokes, while Caleb Smith had 47 and Jackson Hollis had 50 strokes.

Covington has another critical matchup tomorrow (Tuesday) against Miami East at Echo Hills.
