PLEASANT HILL – The Covington Lady Buccs put together a dominating performance against Bradford in the opening round of the post-season at Newton High School on Saturday.

Covington won in three straight sets by the scores of 25-7, 25-16 and 25-4.

The tone was set in the first set as the Lady Buccs performed to the standard of the program with aggressiveness and execution offensively and defensively.

The second set wasn’t at the same standard as the Lady Buccs committed several errors in serves and attempted kills. This kept Bradford in contention with the score way to close at 14-12. Fortunately the Lady Buccs were able to regroup and close out the second set with a 25-16 victory.

The momentum carried out through the entire third set as the Lady Buccs never gave Bradford any chance to get back into the game. The score of 25-4 in the final set was proof of how dominating the Lady Buccs were down the stretch.

Covington, now 18-5 on the season, plays Lehman Catholic on Thursday at 7:00pm at Newton High School.
