ANNA – The Covington volleyball team defeated Anna on Monday in four sets 25-11, 25-18, 19-25, 25-19. The win boosts Covington’s record to 2-1 on the season.

In the process, senior Nigella Reck had a huge game with 18 kills and 13 digs, while junior Carlie Besecker had 10 kills and 14 digs.

“We pulled off an exciting win and learned a lot about how to channel energy and focus during tough plays,” said Covington coach Ellie Cain.

In junior varsity action, the Lady Buccs won in three sets 28-26, 13-25, 25-12. to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Covington begins Three Rivers Conference play tomorrow at Troy Christian and hosts Bethel on Thursday.
