CASSTOWN – The Covington Lady Buccs closed out the regular season with a 17-5 overall record and 13-1 in the TRC after losing to Miami East in the regular season finale.

Miami East defeated Covington in three sets by the scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-20.

Losing to Miami East isn’t a downfall for the Lady Buccs because of the caliber the Lady Vikings bring to the court. This very competitive game hopefully sets the Lady Buccs up for elevating their execution to make a long tournament run.

“We are going to use this game to identify what we need to improve on to make us stronger for the tournament,” said Covington coach Stephanie Robinson. “Tonight there were a lot of errors we had control of and we need to clean those up in order to have a successful post-season.”

During the contest Taylor Kirker broke the school record for career digs with 858.

Covington opens the post-season tournament against Bradford on Saturday, October, 18th at Newton High School at 3:30pm.
