LADY BUCCS MOVE TO 2-2 WITH A TRC WIN

TROY – The Covington Lady Buccs defeated Troy Christian in four sets 25-18, 21-25, 25-19 and 25-18 to prove their record to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the TRC.

“It was nice to start of the league with a win,” said Covington coach Stephanie Robinson. “It is still early in the season, so we have a few things we need to work on to get better. Still, it was a good win because they (Troy Christian) has a lot of height.”

Taylor Kirker kept Troy Christian off balance when she served the ball. Her aggressive serving led to five aces.

“We tried to stay aggressive,” Robinson said. “Taylor (Kirker) set the tone on that. Dakota (Kenworthy was aggressive too.”

Kenworthy had 12 kills and Ramse Vanderhorst ha 22 digs.

Covington hosts Bethel on Thursday.
