SIDNEY – The Covington Lady Buccs continue to make strides with each outing and the results are showing on the scoreboard. Tuesday Covington took yet another step forward in a three-set sweep victory over Lehman Catholic, 25-17, 25-21, 25-22.

The win is the seventh straight for Covington after a season-opening loss to Russia. The Lady Buccs are now 7-1 overall and 5-0 in the TRC.

Covington put forth a balanced offensive attack with senior Nigella Reck and junior Carlie Besecker combining for 20 kills. Taylor Kirker, Lauren York, Ella Remley, Kearsten Wiggins and Karyanne Turner combined to contribute with nine kills, while Kirker recorded 24 assists.

Covington’s JV team defeated Lehman 25-21, 25-18, they are now 7-1 (5-0).

The Lady Buccs travel to Riverside on Thursday to take on the defending TRC champs.
