COVINGTON – After starting the season with two straight losses against really good team, Anna and Brookville, the Covington Lady Buccs have been on a roll, which continued on Thursday with a three set victory over Northridge.
This is the 12th straight victory for the Lady Buccs with only six sets surrendered along the way. There are eight more games remaining in the regular season to prepare for the post-season tournament.
The first set against Northridge wasn’t at a high standard for the Lady Buccs as the final score was 25-16.
Covington refocused and followed up with two dominating sets by winning 25-7 and 25-2. The key in the final two sets was the aggressive serving that kept Northridge off balance and defensive execution that made it difficult for points to be scored.
The Lady Buccs improve their record to 12-2 overall and 10-0 in the TRC. Up next is a triple-header against three very good teams, New Bremen, Versailles and Shawnee on Saturday at New Bremen. This stiff competition provides Covington an opportunity to find out how much progression has been made at this point of the season.
