JACKIE SIEFRING – A LEGENDARY CAREER
2014 Covington Graduate Jackie Siefring had a legendary career in track and field where she won two state championships and five state medals in high school, earned All-American status multiple times in college at Akron University and represented her country as a member of Team USA.
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER
Jackie Siefring was a star athlete at Covington High School in basketball and track. On the track, Siefring won state titles in the long jump and 300 meter hurdles and finished third in the 100 meter hurdles in 2014, She also finished third in the 300 meter hurdles and fourth in the long jump in 2013. She graduated with five school records in the 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles and the long jump.

COLLEGIATE CAREER
The unbelievable collegiate career for 2014 Covington graduate and Akron University star Jackie Siefring came to an end at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in Eugene, Oregon on June 24, 2018.
And the Zips’ star went out in style, earning All-American accolades for the third consecutive year in the outdoor season and sixth time overall as she earned All-American recognition three times in the indoor seasons.
In all, Jackie was a three-time First Team All-American (2016 in Pentathlon, 2017 in Heptathlon and 2018 in Pentathlon) and earned second team All-American honors three times (2016 in Heptathlon, 2017 in Pentathlon and 2018 in Heptathlon).
She also won a combined 8 MAC (Mid-American Conference) Championships to earn First Team conference honors and finished runner-up on four other occasions to earn Second Team All-MAC recognition. Siefring was also a Academic All-MAC and Academic All-American in 2016, 2017 and 2018.
On a world level, Siefring competed as a member of Team USA in the Heptathlon at the Thorpe Cup in Dusseldorf, Germany in the summer of 2017. Being the lone collegiate athlete on the team (the rest being professionals), Siefring helped the United States capture victory by finishing seventh in the Heptathlon with 5,560 points.

JULY 30, 2017 – DUSSELDORF, GERMANY
Jackie Siefring, a 2014 Covington High School graduate and junior standout at Akron University, helped lead Team USA to a victory over Germany in the women’s heptathlon in the Thorpe Cup on Sunday in Dusseldorf, Germany.
With Siefring’s help, the United States defeated the German squad by 1,181 points – 17,461 to 16,280.
Siefring, who recently finished fifth in the heptathlon at the NCAA Championships and then 10th at the USATF Outdoor National Championships in July, was the lone collegiate competitor on Team USA – the rest being professionals. Still, the Akron All-American on the long jump with a distance of 19-11.75, placed third in the 800 meter run (2:14.92), fourth in the high jump (5-5), fifth in the shot put (39-5.25),7th in the 200 meter dash (25.41), 8th in the 100 meter hurdles (14.36), and 11th in the Javelin (111-9). Overall, Siefring finished seventh individually with 5,560 accumulated points.
JULY 3-4, 2018 – OTTAWA, ONTARIO
Former University of Akron track and field All-American Jackie Siefring (Covington, Ohio) garnered a sixth-place finish in the women’s heptathlon at the 2018 APA Combined Events Championships for Team USA this past Tuesday and Wednesday, July 3-4 against a field that includes the Pan-American Countries (North and South America and the Caribbean) with a seven-event cumulative score of 5,546.
Siefring opened her competition placing fifth in the 100-meter hurdles clocking a time of 14:02. She followed equaling a career-best mark in the high jump of 5-7.75 (1.72m) to place fifth in the event. She previously set her career-best mark at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in June. Siefring capped her opening-day efforts registering the fourth – and sixth-best marks in the shot put (41-1.50/12.53m) and 800 meters (25.34), respectively.
In second-day action, Siefring placed third in the long jump posting a mark of19-2.75 (5.86m), before recording the sixth- and 11th-best efforts in the 800 meters (2:20.73) and javelin (105-6/32.16m).
Siefring capped her brilliant Zips’ career in June garnering All-America honors for the sixth time placing 10th in the heptathlon at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships with a seven-event cumulative score of 5,725, her best score in three NCAA appearances, to collect second-team All-America status. She earned her third consecutive berth in the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the heptathlon on the strength of a career-best score of 5,872 at the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 19).
Siefring captured her eighth career league title at the Mid-American Conference Championships (May 11) winning the heptathlon with a meet-record score of 5,688, while helping Akron win the MAC title contributing points with third-, eighth- and eighth-place efforts in the long jump (19-9/6.02m), 400-meter hurdles (64.66) and high jump (5-4.50/1.64m).
