HOMETOWN HERO: RYAN HEMBREE

U.S. AIR FORCE (2021-PRESENT)

Ryan Hembree graduated from Covington High School in 2017 and enlisted into the United States Air Force in February of 2021. He spent eight-and-a-half-weeks in Basic Military Training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.

After completing Basic Military Training, Hembree then went through his military service training as a Vehicle Mechanic at Port Hueneme, California, the same location his grandfather, Ted Peacock, received his training in 1968.

As a Vehicle Mechanic in the Air Force, Hembree’s first assignment was at F.E. Warren Air Force Base in Wyoming. In 2023, Hembree spent six months in Iraq working on a fleet of military vehicles.

Ryan Hembree is now ranked as a Senior Airman (E-4) and is stationed at Ramstien Air Force Base in Germany.
