George Ephraim Drees was born July 24, 1911 and passed away on December 26, 1944 at the age of 33 in the Battle of the Bulge in Luxembourg, Belgium during World War II. He is rested at peace at Luxembourg American Cemetery in Belgium. Private Drees was part of the 317th Infantry Regiment, 80th Infantry Division in the United States Army.

George’s younger brother, Paul Lee Drees, a 1938 Covington graduate, also served in the United States Army during World War II.

George is the son of Arthur Donald Drees and Blanche Cable (Mohler) Drees. His mother, Blanche, died in 1952 and his father, Arthur, died in 1961. Both of his parents were born in 1889. He had two brothers, Paul Lee Drees, who served in Word War II and passed away in 1961 due to an automobile accident and another brother, Ned M. Drees, who was born in 1915 and lived for 92 years until 2007. George also had an older sister who was born on May 29, 1910 and passed away the same day she was born.

His spouse, Helen H. (Howser) Drees was born in 1911 and passed away in 1990 at the age of 79. She is buried at Highland Cemetery in Covington, Ohio.
