DALE ERNEST BADGLEY
U.S. ARMY (1967-1968)

Dale Ernest Badgley was born on July 31, 1947 and graduated from Covington High School in 1966. After graduating from high school, Badgley served in the U.S. Army with A Company, 2nd Battalion, 39th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division, US Army Vietnam. CPL Dale Ernest Badgley started his tour date in the Vietnam War on November 14, 1967 and was killed on June 3, 1968 at the age of 20 by hostile fire – multiple fragmentation wounds – during an engagement on the Dinh Tong Doc Canal in Dinh Tuong Province, South Vietnam.

Badgley is honored on The Wall Of Faces website (https://www.vvmf.org/Wall-of-Faces/1893/DALE-E-BADGLEY/) and several remembrances have been made to honor him. One remembrance provided a quote from Badgley on his desire to serve his country in the Vietnam War, “My country has given me, a good life and taught me the value, of freedom. I will, not hide behind a church. My country called me and I’m going, to serve it.”

Badgley is laid to rest at Miami Memorial Park in Covington, Ohio.
