COVINGTON – Covington dropped to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the TRC after a 54=39 loss to Bethel on Friday in the home opener.

And it was the fourth quarter that was Covington’s downfall as the Buccs failed to connect on a single bucket in the final frame. The only points scored in the fourth by Covington came on a pair of free throws by Mic Barhorst.

The offensive struggles allowed Bethel to pull away down the stretch after leading the Buccs by just four points after three period, 41-37.

Covington trailed 15-8 after one and 21-24 at the break, but battled back by outscoring Bethel 13-8 in the third. Unfortunately, Covington couldn’t maintain the momentum in the final period.

Brogen Angle led the Buccs in scoring with 12 points, while Bryson Hit had 8 pointy and Britton Miller scored 7 points.

The Buccs host Mississinawa Valley tomorrow.
