COVINGTON DEFEATS TROY CHRISTIAN, 10-0

COVINGTON – In a game that was moved from Troy Christian to Covington’s home field due to field conditions, the Lady Buccs dominated their way to a 10-0 run-rule victory in five innings.

Covington scored three runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third and four in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.

Overall, the Lady Buccs had eight hits and took advantage of three errors committed by Troy Christian. Plus, pitchers Whitney Burns and Jayda McClure combined to only allow four hits and struck out eight batters.

Elizabeth Coblentz led the Lady Buccs with two hits, one on a double and another one on a single. She also scored a run and didn’t like out at all throughout the game.

Emalyn Johnson and Ava Hartwig both connected on triples, while Taylor Foutz and Whitney Burns drilled doubles. Additional hits were connected by Kylie Palsgrove and Cassidy Iddings.

The Lady Buccs improve their record to 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the TRC. Next is a home game tomorrow (Wednesday) against Bethel.
