SIDNEY – Covington capped a very busy week by winning its sixth game in six days by run ruling Lehman Catholic 26-3 in five innings on Saturday.
The win boosts Covington’s record to 11-2 overall and 5-1 in the TRC.
The Lady Buccs pounded out 27 hits and scored 9 runs in the first, 8 in the second, 2 in the third, 4 in the fourth and 3 in the fifth.
Nigella Reck hits two home runs to reach 10 for the season. She drove in seven runs on five hits.
Jayda McClure and Taylor Foutz also connected on home runs in the contest and Maggie Anderson had a huge day by going 6-for-6 at the plate.
Meg Rogers started off the contest by throwing the first inning, while Whitney Burns and Jayda McClure both pitched two innings. The trio combined to strike out six batters and allowed just four hits.
The lone issue for the Lady Buccs was the three errors committed in the field that resulted into two unearned runs.
Next up for the Lady Buccs is a home contest against Troy Christian on Tuesday.
