TROY – Covington competed in a competitive track meet at the Troy Up and Running Invitational against several Division I programs in the season opener of 2026.

The boys finished 8th out of 16 teams with 21.33 team points, while the girls finished 13th out of 16 teams with 11 points.

Day’Lynn Garrett won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 39.87 and finished fourth in the 110 meter hurdles in the time of 15.67.

Filip McMaken finished third in the high jump with a height of 5’9”.

Emma Havener finished fourth in the 300 meter hurdles in the time of 51.82 and sixth in the 100 meter hurdles in the time of 18.36. Plus, Mary Larson finished eighth in the 300 meter hurdles in the time of 57.78.

Alice Larson finished seventh in the 1600 meter run in the time of 5:49.95.

Covington hosts a Quad Meet next Thursday.
