BUCCS FINISH FOURTH IN KENDIG MEMORIAL

Hunter Ray and the Buccaneers had a solid showing in the Dan Kendig Memorial on Wednesday.

PIQUA – The Covington Buccaneers hosted the annual Dan Kendig Memorial golf tournament on Wednesday at Echo Hills and put together a solid showing by taking fourth place with a team score of 347.

Russia won the tournament with a score of 311, while Fort Loramie finished runner-up with 312 strokes and Troy came in third with 319 strokes.

Individually for the Buccs, Matthew Dieperink had a huge day by carding 82 to lead Covington. Sam Grabeman and Bryson Hite both scored an 88, while Hunter Ray tallied 89 strokes. Cameron Haines and Connor Humphrey rounded out the scoring with 94 and 101 strokes respectively.

The performance Covington put forth was a dramatic improvement of the 393 team score turned in during the season opener on August 4th.
