COVINGTON – Covington run-ruled Northridge 10-0 in six innings as junior Ashton Skaggs tossed a no-hitter.
Skaggs threw all six innings and only allowed two walks and struck out nine batters.
Covington scored three runs in the first and then scored a run in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-0 lead. The Buccaneers closed out the game with six runs in the bottom of the sixth to to improve their record to 4-5 overall and 3-2 in the TRC.
The Buccs racked up nine hits with Carter Owens leading the team by going 3-for-3 with an RBI and scoring two runs. Grant Blore went 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored two runs as well.
Brairen Denson, Tanner Palsgrove, Jacob Tipps and Ashton Skaggs also recorded hits as well.
Covington only struck out twice throughout the entire game and didn’t commit a single error.
