COVINGTON – The Lady Buccs continued their focus and determination by putting forth a near perfect execution in a 24-0 victory over Lehman in five innings.

The final score isn’t what was most impressive of the performance the Lady Buccs put forth throughout the game. What was most impressive was the outstanding focus by the defense. Lehman only struck out five times, so the defense not committing a single error and the outstanding pitching by Jayda McClure is why Lehman didn’t record a single hit throughout the game.

Jayda McClure, who is primarily a defensive specialist at third base, pitched throughout the entire game to pick up her first win of the season.

Offensively, the Lady Buccs tallied 17 hits throughout the game. The lead was 9-0 after the first inning and 15-0 at the end of the second inning. From the third inning on, the entire roster was put into situations for playing and the execution continued as the Lady Buccs outscored Lehman 9-0 in the final three innings.

The biggest hits happened by several players as Emalyn Johnson led the team with a home run, a triple and 5 RBIs. Taylor Foutz hit her second home run of the season, while Jayda McClure pounded out a triple, a double and 5 RBIs. Plus, Emma Ouellette, Karlee Schwartz and Kayleigh Deeter connected on doubles.

The Lady Buccs are now 13-2 overall and 6-1 in the TRC with the next game being against Riverside at home.
