NIGELLA RECK NAMED FIRST TEAM ALL-AMERICAN

Nigella Reck was named First Team All-American by the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) as a shortstop and also earned All-American recognition as an infielder by EIS (Extra Innings Softball) for her amazing performance on the softball field as a senior in 2023.

To earn these prestigious awards, Nigella shattered many of the offensive records at Covington High School and put up numbers that are hard to believe. In 2023, Nigella batted .708 with a .769 on-base percentage, smashed 15 home runs and drove in 72 runs, while scoring 69 runs herself. Amazingly, she had 35 walks and only struck out once all season.

Nigella was also First Team All-Ohio, District Player of the Year, and Athlete of the Year in the TRC (Three Rivers Conference). Her career batting average was .613 with 27 career home runs and 179 career RBIs.
