COVINGTON – The Covington Lady Buccs defeated Lehman in three straight sets to improve their record to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in the TRC.

Covington won 25-11, 25-22 and 25-10.

The Lady Buccs had nearly complete control in the first set, which led to an impressive score, 25-11.

But the second set wasn’t at the Covington standard. Several mistakes on serves, serve receives, spikes and missed communication led to Lehman holding a 10-8 lead midway through the set. Fortunately, after a timeout the Lady Buccs outscored Lehman 16-8 to take a 24-18 lead. Lehman then scored four straight points until Ava Hartwig connected on a kill to end the second set 25-22.

Covington then picked up the momentum in the final set by dominating on a 25-10 victory.

The next game is a home contest on Thursday against Riverside.
