COVINGTON – The Covington Lady Buccs dropped the season opener to Russia on Tuesday in three straight sets 13-25, 11-25, 12-25.

In all, the Lady Buccs tallied ten kills as a team, while Taylor Kirker had nine assists.

The junior varsity team came up short as well, losing in two sets 11-25, 20-25.

Covington (0-1) travels to Brookville Tuesday for another non-league match.
