COVINGTON – The Fort Rowdy Gathering provides an enjoyable weekend experience for everyone who attends and also benefits the Covington Community. This 33rd festival was held over Labor Day Weekend and had so many things available for all ages to have a good time.
On the west side of the Stillwater River, where a portable footbridge was constructed for people to walk across the river, the Mountainman Encampments were present to provide a depiction of a bustling, small trading village set in the late 1700s and early 1800s.
On the east side of the Stillwater River near the baseball diamonds, there were areas for live music, food vendors, primitive vendors, and kids activities. Throughout the weekend there were 11 live music events; Dayton Scottish Highland Dancer’s Sean McSwain, The Hamiltons, Titus Bowman, Tim Hembree (Elvis Tribute Singer), Melvin Rowe, Tesa Marie, Rocky Creek, Off The Record, The Corn Drinkers, and Steve Lewis. Plus, there were so many vendors providing several options for food and additional items for purchase.
This weekend had perfect weather at the Fort Rowdy Gathering and kids activities made things fun for youngsters; Shiny Little Pony Rides, Miss Joy’s Face Painting, Kids Scavenger Hunt, Kids Games, Family Traditions, and Farm Petting Zoo.
