PIQUA – Covington and Bethel are the top two teams in the TRC and both went head-to-head on Tuesday. Covington was able to come away with a huge victory by eight strokes 153 to 161, which gives the Buccs a two-match lead in the standings over the Bees.
Covington improves to 12-0 in the league, while Bethel drops to 10-2.
Four Buccaneers finished below 40 strokes with Sam Grabeman leading the way with one over par at 37. Matt Dieperink carded a 38, while Cameron Haines and Bryson Hite both finished in 39 strokes.
Brodie Manson and Connor Humphrey rounded out the Buccaneer scoring as Manson finished in 42 strokes and Humphrey tallied a 46.
The Buccs have two more critical head-to-head matches on the road against Milton-Union tomorrow (Wednesday) and against Miami East next Tuesday before competing in the TRC Tournament next Thursday.
