PIQUA – The Covington Buccaneers were missing a key golfer in Matthew Dieperink, but were still able to pull out a huge conference win over Lehman Catholic on Tuesday at Echo Hills Golf Course in Piqua.
The finally tally for the match was 171 strokes for Covington and 179 for Lehman.
The Buccs remain unbeaten in league play at 8-0.
Leading the way for Covington was Sam Grabeman, who finished with 39 strokes. Bryson Hite carded a 40 and Cameron Haines had a solid day with a 44. Connor Humphrey turned in a 48, while freshman Brodie Manson scored a 50 and Hunter Ray finished with a 51.
The Buccaneers have four league matches left before the league tournament and currently holds a two-match lead over Bethel.
