BUCCS FELL TO ST. HENRY, 5-0

ST. HENRY – The Covington Buccaneers started off the 2026 season against a talented St. Henry team and came up short with a 5-0 loss to the Redskins.

Defensively, the Buccaneers played well as sophomore pitcher Hunter McMillion only allowed five hits throughout the entire game. McMillion went the distance as struck out four batters and only walked two batters. The Buccs turned one double play in the game.

The only situations that hurt Covington were two errors.

Neither team was able to score until St. Henry jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Austin Kunk singled, scoring one run, and Owen Zimmerman doubled, scoring two runs.

The Redskins were able to score one run in the fourth inning and another run in the fifth inning.

Max Delzeith earned the win for the Redskins. The right-handed pitcher allowed one hit and zero runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking none.

The Buccaneers only managed one hit, which was connected by Hunter McMillion, who went 1-for-3 at the plate.

Covington (0-1) hosts Botkins on Monday.
