COVINGTON – The Covington Lady Buccs defeated Troy Christian in three sets by the scores of 25-17, 25-18, 25-18.

The win improves Covington’s record to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in the TRC.

The victory capped an enjoyable night for Covington community members who were present due to being honored by the volleyball program on a Community Appreciation Night.

Covington started off with a 20-9 lead in the first set, but Troy Christian battled back to make the score closer at the end.

The second set was closer throughout much of it, but Covington was able to pull away after holding a slim 21-16 lead.

In the third and final set Covington stormed out to a 14-3 lead and Troy Christian wasn’t able to overcome such of a deficit to extend the match as the Lady Buccs won 25-18.

The Lady Buccs travel to Bethel on Thursday in the second TRC matchup.
